About Me

Bio for Billie A Williams, Mystery Suspense Author, Speaker, Coach, Writing Instructor.
Billie A Williams barely passed English Grammar in High school. Can you correct a track record of preferring socializing to studying? Williams knew she would need to in order to live her dream of becoming a published author.
College level English Grammar, literature courses,  a three-year stint as feature columnist and journalist for her college newspaper, "Nicolet New Times," her name on the Dean's List while working full-time and caring for a growing family proved she could.
Self study courses from places like Writers Digest and Long Ridge Writers Group, fed her dream of the title "published author".  Life interfered and her writing career was put on hold. Fast forward to 1997. A short story, "Dandelion With Angel Wings," was published in the literary magazine Thema. Paid publication was the spark that reignited Williams' dormant dream.
Wings ePress, Inc, a small, independent print and electronic publisher, published her first mystery suspense novel, Death by Candlelight in 2001. Williams seriously began cooking up mysteries with accidental sleuths. Testing careers by solving crimes has become a passion and the vehicle for her career as she continues to write and publish more mystery novels.
Over sixty published works, in various genres, six books on the craft of writing, and numerous articles highlight Williams' current profile/platform.  She also edits and publishes, "Mystery Readers and Working Writers Newsletter," on a monthly basis that hosts three regular columnists as well as contributors to a New Voices column for beginning writers of all ages and a new column for Teen New Voices.
Williams has branched out from author to speaker, coach and writing instructor. She teaches an ongoing writing class to the Amberg Writers Group which she hosts in her home on a monthly basis. This writers' group has received recognition and requests to give presentations and readings of their work at libraries, nursing homes and the local Red Hat Society groups as well as publishing their words in local newspapers and other venues.
She is a contributing member of the Working Writer Coaches Club, writing articles, giving interviews and learning by doing under the tutelage of her Writing Coach Suzanne Lieurance.
Williams has previously written feature interviews for Manic Readers and a local history column for "The Pike River Community News" in Amberg, Wisconsin and is currently a regular columnist for Mystery Fiction's Voice in the Dark.
She received the Golden Wings Award from her publisher for her mystery novel, Ancient Secrets, she was honored with the label of Best Selling author for her mystery novel Money Isn't Everything, and continues to write and publish novels with Wings ePress, Inc. publisher, Whiskey Creek Press, Magellan Books, Filbert Publishing, Red Rose Publishing and others. She has also won awards for her poetry.
